Chips Rafferty started as a throwaway conversation in 2013 between Marty Umanski (TTT, Gosteleradio) and Simon Gibbs (TTT, Mountain Static) about writing some back to basics, indie pop songs. They finally followed through when the pair enlisted the help of Drummer, Greg Cooper (Toy Balloon). The band's sound is best summed up as a mix between 90’s Lo-Fi and JB Hi-Fi.
